Cleveland, OH – January 3, 2013 – Jergens Industrial Supply (JIS), a division of Jergens, Inc., is pleased to announce that it has acquired certain assets of the John M. Allen Company (JMA). Together, JIS and the John M. Allen Company offer over 100 years of combined experience. With this acquisition, JIS continues to build its business as the largest and most technically advanced industrial distributor within 150 miles of Cleveland.
The John M. Allen Company, founded in 1953, established itself in the market as a value-added supplier, providing its customers with top quality leading edge products paired with superior technical support and customer service. In nearly 60 years of business, John M. Allen Company has become the essential link between customers’ needs and the industry's top manufacturer’s solutions for metalworking consumables with the goal of ensuring that customers achieved least tooling cost per piece manufactured.
JIS differentiates itself from other catalog houses by being the only industrial distributor that shares space with a manufacturing company. By applying over 50 years of expertise gained from being co-located with manufacturing experts JIS helps customers shorten set-up times, reduce cycle times, reduce tooling costs, increase production, and optimize speed in their manufacturing processes. Both JIS and John M. Allen Company, as distributors of metalworking consumables, offer technical service and product training programs, vendor and usage control programs, inventory management, cost saving analysis, and more. It is this balance of a wide range of top quality products combined with support and service from leading suppliers that perfectly connects John M. Allen Company and JIS together.
Matt Schron, JIS General Manager, says, “By bringing together JIS and the John M. Allen Company, we will be able to leverage the knowledge, experiences and relationships both companies have within the marketplace to better serve manufacturing end users not only in northeast Ohio, but nationwide.” He adds that the acquisition also gives JIS the opportunity to partner with and represent additional leading metal cutting industry suppliers, while also improving customer experience by continuing to increase efficiency.
John M. Allen Company president Frank Whalen says, “As part of JIS we now have the advantage of relying on over 100 years of combined experience and service, representing an expanded and robust line of core suppliers.
